"Chief of Hearts" (part 1)
Homer Simpson and Springfield's Chief of Police become BFFs over community service and parmesan sandwiches, while Marge worries that Bart is dealing drugs in "Chief of Hearts", the 18th episode of the 21st season of The Simpsons.
After being sentenced to community service for smuggling a candy apple into a bank, Homer shares his lunch (consisting of a ridiculous assortment of parmesan-based sandwiches) with Springfield's chief fuzz, Clancy Wiggum (who, as a cop, has few friends and a wife who spends more time with her book club). Wiggum warms to the overture and spends time bonding with Homer, while the other delinquents (Kent Brockman and Krusty the Clown among them) perform such tasks as retrieving used condoms and arranging old bums by the wars they fought in.
Wiggum and Homer spend more and more time together, eventually being on the scene together during an armed robbery (which Wiggum only reluctantly responds to: "Do you need backup, or do you want backup?"). In the melee, Wiggum takes a bullet meant for Homer, and Homer keeps a vigil while the chief lies unconscious in a hospital bed. Once Wiggum wakes up, Homer wants a break from their friendship, since he spends more time with Wiggum than he does with his own family. Wiggum doesn't like being deserted, and the two fall out. Later, officers Lou and Eddie confess to Homer that they can't find the chief. Homer believes he knows where Wiggum is (their favorite hangout spot together) and goes to find his friend (alone, because his car is full of printing paper he stole from work). While reconciling, the two buddies are interrupted by Fat Tony's counterfeit operation, and their rocky friendship is put to the test.
Meanwhile, Bart becomes captivated by the latest craze sweeping the playground - Battle Ball, so cool that "it makes Digimon look like Pokemon". Principle Skinner mistakes the secretive dealings and jargon for drug transactions and informs Marge, who overhears Bart playing with Milhouse and leaps to the same conclusion. After ransacking Bart's room looking for narcotics (she finds a mysterious white substance that turns out to be itching powder), Bart allays her fears - so much so that, to Bart's horror, Marge takes a liking to Battle Ball.
