The Call of the Simpson’s

Season 1, Episode 7

Chalk Board: I Will Not Draw Naked Ladies in Class

The Flanders are always one upping the Simpsons.  While Todd is mowing the lawn on an automatic mower, Bart is pushing an old style mower.  Flanders pulls up in a brand new RV which makes Homer drool.  He asks Flanders how he can afford it, and Flanders tells him good old credit.  Homer takes his family to the RV dealership to buy a brand new, better model than Flanders RV, but his credit is so poor that they can only afford a beat up, POS RV that will break down on them as soon as they drive it off the lot.

Homer pulls up to Flander’s house in his new, but very used RV and of course, sweet Flanders tells Homer that it is a ‘beaut’ and the Simpson’s drive off in their rustic RV.  As they are driving, Homer decides to take a ‘short cut’ and almost kills his family while doing it, driving the RV off of a cliff (but don’t you worry, the Simpsons all got out in time).  Meanwhile, they are now stuck in the woods.  Homer and Bart decide to go off to find some food and Maggie follows.  Lisa and Marge stay back to set up camp, thinking that Maggie is safe with Bart and Homer, but they do not even know she was following them, oops.

Bart and Homer get spooked in the woods (thanks to Maggie sucking her pacifier) and jump into the river, leaving poor little Maggie all alone in the forest.  She spots a large brown bear who takes her home to his den.  Meanwhile back at the river, Bart and Homer are now naked and have to make their own clothes.  They try to catch dinner, but fail miserably.

Back at the camp Marge and Lisa have built a fire and a nice little wood fort.

Lisa “I hope Maggie and the boys are all right”

Marge “Well I am sure they’re just fine, after all we built a fire and we don’t know anything about nature.  Imagine what your father, an experienced woodsman has done”

Lisa “Yea, I suppose so, goodnight mom”

Bart and Homer are out freezing in the cold, trying to stay warm, while Maggie is in the bear cave, snuggling with the bears.

The next morning, on their way back to find camp, Homer spots a bee’s nest.  He goes to take honey from it, but instead gets stung.  Since his mouth is swollen from the bee stings he cannot talk, and he jumps into the mud nearby to get rid of the bees.  A camper records him as he gets out of the mud, thinking he is Big Foot.

The forest ranger finds Marge and Lisa and tells them he had found them just in time because there is a Big Foot lurking in the woods.  Marge points out that it is not Big Foot, but her husband Homer, and the news crews swarm her asking what a “Big Foot” eats, etc.  Just as the news crews arrive, so do the bears with Maggie, but the news crews shoo the bears away with Maggie on board.

Bart and Homer run into the bear cave, by accident looking for food and find Maggie.  They stumble their way out of the woods and Homer gets attacked because he still looks like Big Foot.  Campers turn him into news crews and magazines for money and Homer is poked and prodded for a few days until they finally release him, realizing he is a real human being.

Scientist “This much I believe we can agree upon.  The specimen is either a lower than average human being or a brilliant beast.”
